Those supporting both price controls and easing supply side restrictions should also support Republicans who just want more supply. That they don’t indicates their actual lack of support for building more housing.

None seem to suggest adding rewards, like $10,000 per unit or $4k per bedroom, to all builders who have actually built new housing, but doing so is likely the best feasible policy, including some reward for those who recently completed new housing. The market works by rewarding, with profit, those who build & serve. Extra govt rewards would speed the market reaction.
